Please don't mind the eyebrows, I have no idea why they sketched out like that in the pic. SO! I used some different products today. My foundation is RCMA, as is my HAC. I used Ben Nye powder in Cameo to set all of those products. I did use Tarte brow pomade on my eyebrows (and it betrayed me!) and I used Nars New Order mixed with a Laura Mercier shimmer block in Pink Mosaic. On my eyes I used VooDoo cosmetics eyeshadow... A deeper blue in my crease and a shimmery ice blue on my lids. My eyeliner is Mac gel eyeliner and my mascara is Dior Maximizer. My lipstick is VooDoo Cosmetics in Dolce Vita, and I kinda changed the color with a gold lipgloss. Tell me what you lovely ladies think! Any CC is welcome!

I really don't have any CC to give you! I'm just trying to find out how to highlight the triangle area! It's not easy :(

Maybe I can help? Which triangle area (forehead or under eyes) and what products?
Dec 30, 2014
Jill K.
Yes. I currently have the NYX lavender hd concealer, the NYX radiant finishing powder, and I just sent back the Ben Nye banana powder back today.

I bought some ELF HD powder too, and I'm not really sure how to use that!

And I just bought some Hard Candy highlighter in Tiki.

Well heck. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with those products. I can tell you to go light with the HD powder. I use it to set my makeup all over, just take a pic of yourself to see how it reacts to a flash in pics. I'll just tell you what I do- I use my concealer (I use Mac) in a V shape under my eyes and pat it in with my middle finger. Then I usually go over it with a highlighter that has a salmon undertone but very sparingly! For my forehead V I use a yellow based highlighter, I bring it down my nose, on my Cupid's bow and on my chin. I use a stippling brush to blend it in. Because I have dry skin, I use cream products. I do have one powder contour palette from Sephora that works well. Any contour I use I will just brush it lightly into the hollows of my cheeks and blend well. I'll take it down the sides of my nose and a little right on the tip. I also blend it over the top of my forehead. I wish I was more familiar with those products you have but maybe you can use them the same way!

I made the mistake of using too much HD powder last Saturday night and it was bright work the camera flash! The pic is on the thread called Ben Nye banana powder review.

Thanks for your tips! I will definitely give them a try! I think I get a little scared when my under eye area is so bright!

Do you use a brush with the HD powder or the puff that sometimes comes with it?
Dec 30, 2014
Kathryn R.
I always use a big fluffy brush. Or even a smaller fluffy brush. Either way I never use the puff that comes with any of them. I don't feel those puffs distribute the product as well as a nice fluffy brush. And I totally get what you mean about concern over your under eye area being too bright. I was getting mine too bright and I just cut way down on the amount of product and I spread it out thinly. It looks much better now. And maybe try a highlighter that isn't straight yellow, they do make highlighters that come in flesh tones. Mac and YSL have them, I'm sure other brands must have them too. Good luck!! Let me know how it goes for you!

Love the look!! You have great highlighting skills! have you ever used the hourglass ambient lighting powders?
I do prefer your pinky lips :) hehe
Dec 31, 2014
Kathryn R.
I have not tried the ambient lighting powders but they are on my list to get! I hear such great reviews about them! And thank you about the lip color- I was worried I ruined it with the gold lipgloss on top but it came out ok. 😊

Gorgeous as always! I love your eyes.
oh noooo...what happened with the Tarte pomade??! that's the one I love :(
Dec 31, 2014
Kathryn R.
I know Nikelle I thought of you! I think its that I was facing sunlight directly and it just picked up every little hair so my eyebrows don't look as filled in as they did in person. In person they looked like they always do but in this pic they did something different!
