I have been using the real techniques sponge applicator for awhile but mine keep ripping. Should I just invest in the beauty blender? Do they last long? Thanks!

I can't speak for the real tecniques version but I've had my beauty blender for about a year and it's amazing. I used to wear foundation everyday for a long time and even now every time I wear foundation I use it. For me its well worth it and it replaces my brushes. Its a good investment if you use it a lot.

I recently got the real techniques miracle sponge, I haven't tried the beauty blender because it's 20+$ and honestly, I'm not even sure how fond of sponges I was going to be so I went with the real techniques. I don't have any issues with it other then the tearing, it's unfortunate that this happens because otherwise I'd say it's a great sponge lol. :)

I have to ask, as someone who has worked with the RT sponge for a while now and am only on my second one due to storage ignorance, what on earth are you doing with it to tear it? I'm not sure I could tear it if I tried. Definitely check out Vintageortacky's review of it on YouTube, she shows a great technique for using it that works amazingly for me.

I actually didn't do anything "to it" to tear it, it was the first wash and after that their were little tears in the side. I only use the flat side so this isn't something that's terrible for me, though I was quite disappointed it'd torn after one use.

That is disappointing! I was trying to ask if it had torn during use or cleaning or what, sorry if that didn't come across. What did you use to clean it?

I used baby shampoo :) and I'm pretty certain it happened during washing, I didn't wring it out or anything so I'm still pondering what did it, the only conclusion could be my nails or I'm just unlucky. I like it never the less though :)

Honestly I bought a knock off a few months back and I get the same look as the original beauty blender. And it only cost $3
