I went to sephora and was matched with the Kat Von d foundation, light with yellow undertones, but the minute I step outside I look orange/muddy! What the heck?! Any of you ladies have this problem?

A lot of the time foundation oxidizes making your face look orange. The trick is to find one that doesn't react to the combo of your skin's oils and the air; some definitely do (Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse was a ghastly orange nightmare). I'm not sure if there's something else I'm missing here but that's what I know of.

They used that machine and matched me to light 45 and inside it looks so perfect, 😍
But the minute I go outside I look horrible. I'm trying to order the makeup forever foundation, my nearest sephora is 3 1/2 hours from me, so I'm trying to do it online and am stumped as to what undertones to choose, whether I should stay with the yellow or try something different.

I think it's the fact that my foundation is yellow undertoned. Because I have that problem with anything. Hannah, would maybe switching from a yellow to pink undertone maybe (miraculously) help?
Jaclyn, thoughts on that?
Thanks sandy, I planned on purchasing the hourglass primer.

^42 doesn't run orange. At least not for me. I'm practically porcelain and cool toned, and it works perfectly for me. I use #15 in MUFE Mat Velvet+, which is pretty much legit like white paint lol, very similar to 42. I know that wasn't the original question, but just saying. :p
But yeah Hallie, I would try 44. I used that shade, since 42 had been discontinued until recently, and it never pulled yellow.

I'm thinking I'm not even going to stress about this KVD and switch straight to mufe.

I don't trust their match I have very cool undertones and it matched me warmer I was like um...no.
