Hello Jen, I was like you a year ago! zero knowledge about eyeshadows!?? and I am here to encourage you! it needs a lot of practice, and if you have fun learning about it, that makes the practice easier. the first few times you will try, it will come a little odd and you won't like the look (speaking from my experience :)) but don't lose heart and keep on practicing, watch some videos (I recommend Lisa elridge) and just practice! and Jacqueline, like always has given such helpful advice...m sure you will have fun trying out new looks!! :) happy new year btw :)

The general rule of thumb that I follow is a mid tone colour on the lid, a light highlight colour on the brow bone and inner corner (near your tear duct, it helps brighten your eye) and then a darker colour in the crease of your eye. To start off you could try using browns, beiges and champagnes before trying more challenging shades. Good luck!
