I hate the fact that I don't know the answer...I've never heard of using a wooden brush, actually. But, I would advise you to be cautious and not believe everything you hear in a Youtube video =)

I only use bamboo brushes, but just because I buy them from the body shop when they're on sale lol. But when I switched, I definitely noticed a difference. It definitely distributes better and I find I don't get as much snagging while brushing Mt hair. (my hair is thick, naturally somewhat curly, and very very knotty lol)

Ah, that sucks! I don't have extensions, but I do have very thick, coarse hair and it works pretty well for me :)
