I know this sounds weird, but when my hair gets crazy tangled, I use my sons detangling spray, he has crazy curly hair and it's always getting knots and tangles, it works great for me and my son lol. I don't remember the name, but it has an octopus on the front. Maybe for when you're on a tight budget lol.

I'm with shanae J. I use kids suave detangler its called double dutch appl and it has an auctapuss with a jump rope it works great I have rielly curly hair its like ringlits.

I use Dove's Nourishing Oil Care Detangler. I have wavy hair but I have random curls and my hair knots VERY easily. It also gets weighed down easily. This detangler feels really light, it smells great and really helps! Suave kids detangler just seems to make my hair smell good, not detangle! The Dove detangler is 4-6 dollars depending on where you purchase it(:

If your hair is super curly, it may be better to use a conditioner with lots of slip agents and to use fingers or a wide-toothed comb to detangle while showering, rather than brushing while dry. Straight or wavy hair should never be brushed wet, but combing wet, conditioner-laden hair is actually less damaging than dry brushing for curly hair.
