This is my all time favourite hair color; a super ashy light brown. I'm not down for paying crazy prices at the salon & I'm pretty good with at home dyes. So any idea how to get this color at home and maybe a brand that carries this/similar color? I'm thinking the only way to get it is to lighten my hair and then put an ashy color over top, but I want to stay away from bleach! My hair is like a medium brassy brown at the moment.

Just look for a light or medium ash brown :) I've had this colour a few times and lots of brands will carry it. :)

That's the color that I'm thinking about getting and then don't a blonde at the bottom, sort of ombre. It's gorgeous. I know that I'm going to have to use toner though because all box dye makes my hair brassy, whether it's yellow brassy or red, it's annoying but worth it in the end. I have my eye on a color that looks like it at Wal-Mart from garnier nutrisse but I have to color strip my hair beforehand -_-

Ignore the don't between then and a blonde.. I don't know where that came from lol. *and then a blonde at the bottom* Sorry.

Well, the girl in the pic has hi lights and lowlights. So no matter what you use its not going to be the same. But I would go with a cool toned ash brown with an ashy toner

Yeah highlights and lowlights would probably help achieve this Color too. How do you tone when you're using box dye?
