Hello everyone
It's been a while since I've been on here because I wanted to concentrate on college work
But it's been ages since if been thinking about doing something fun with my hair
I have very dark brown (nearly black hair). It's virgin hair and healthy atm because I cut off 5". I wanted to get some blue highlights/streaks near the bottom of my hair but want it to be well blended. I don't want a Kylie Jenner colour where it's colour saturated.
To do this would I have to bleach my hair? Because I really don't want to bleach my hair
How would I go about getting the blue in my hair??
I am going to be going to a salon to get this done but I want to know how it would be done before I go in (can't explain it aha)
Thankyou it advance =)

It depends how vibrant of a blue you want. For something bright you'll need to lighten it, but not necessarily to a super light blonde and a salon should be able to lighten your hair without causing too much damage. If you want a darker, more subtle color, applying dye over dark hair can give a really pretty, subtle tint.

Yes you will have to bleach it, I have dark blonda/light briwn hait and had to get mine bleached. I wouldn't advise it though, I wanted mine done for years so I finally got it dip dyed blue in a salon, however blue is a very difficult colour to actually get into your hair and after a day went a grey colour. I went back and they redid it for free and it was much better, but after a few washed started going greyish again:/. This was also permanent dye so it shows how difficult it is...

Please don't use koolaid. Just don't lol. If you want more details of why not, I'll provide them. But just don't. It's not worth it.
Do you have a picture of what kind of blue you want? That'll determine if you need to bleach it. Though if you want anything brighter than a tint, you'll have to bleach it.
And getting blue hair is not difficult. I've had blue hair many times, and currently do. I haven't dyed it since September and it's still blue. The dye they use at salons is usually joico or kpaks, which are meant to be 8 washes/two weeks so you have to come back to the salon. Just getting the salon to bleach it and then doing the blue yourself with a veggie dye is the better option.
