I don't think it's too thick! But I think a slightly longer more upward wing and no eyeliner on the bottom would suit you better if you're willing to try

Take a q-tip and get it wet with either makeup remover or simply water and just run it along the top of your eyeliner until it's as thin as you want it!

Some prefer an eyeliner brush which may give you more control. More control, more precise line. You can even get an elf one for a dollar.

Your eyes can take all that all that liner. If you think it looks too harsh or thick then you might want to tone it down. I don't think the liner makes your eyes look small or closed in. I always think young people can get away with wearing more eyeliner. If you are used to using a pencil, do you usually smoke out your liner? Is that why it looks weird to you? The kids today are all about the wings and that's fine, but I feel just about over it, TBH. I personally could never ever get the hang of liquid liners no matter the applicator. A very fine brush will certainly give you more of a chance at a thinner liner. The Billy Brush Number ten is what I would use now with a liquid. The nice thing about liner brushes is that they are relatively cheap.
