Hello beauties,
For Christmas I want some new brushes to amp up my makeup collection and I am having a hard time deciding on the brand of brushes that I want to focus on for right now I was thinking these three brands sigma, zoeva, and it cosmetics. I would love your opinions on these brushes as well as any other suggestions and I would perfect to stick to one brand but if you think I could get better results by mixing brands let me know I'm open to suggestions.
Thank you

I got the 22 Brush Set by Coastal Scents last year and they work amazingly!! $35 for 22 brushes. That's about $1.60 per brush!

Royal and Langnickel have a beautiful set out. It's much better quality than sigmas I love using them in my kit and they're very affordable and soft! http://beautyusa.royalbrush.com/products/blp-set12-love-is-patience-12pc-brush-wrap-kit. $60 and they come in many colors you can get them either in a wrap or box

I use their silk series they're a little bit more money but beautiful precious.

Thank you, have either of you tried the brands I said? And your opinions on the ones you suggested to the ones I said?

I agree with Erica on Royal and Langnickel.
I have not tried Royal and Langnickel, but Jacqueline H. ( Beautylish moderator and Professional Make up artist 10+ years ) recommends them. She also recommends BDellium tools.
I have tried the Coastal Scent brushes and have used them for a year and a half... but honestly after getting a Wayne Goss Brushes, Kevyn Aucoin and some Chikuhodo brushes from Beautylish I am sorry to say that they are garbage and apply product very splotchy and uneven.. I ended up tossing them out or giving them away.
I bought that same CS brush set ( Also a waste because when you first get them you use every one but after awhile you use maybe less than half.. lol. ) Coastal Scents is okay for the type of gal who does make up on that special occassion, once every couple of months kind of thing. But if you see yourself getting into make up I personally recommend looking into a good brush set. While Kevyn Aucoin, Wayne Goss, and Chikuhodo are rather exensive... believe me when I say they are worth it. The Chikuhodo brushes don't even feel like brushes, it honestly feels like fine silk. SOOO Worth it! I used to be a cheap-o when it came to brushes, but not anymore and I honestly don't regret it!

Good luck with your career Elizabeth! I really recommend you look into a very good brush set. Chikuhodo brushes do need some babying, as well as Wayne Goss as they are luxuary Japenese brushes. Jacqueline refers to BDellium Tools as her 'Work Horse' brushes and they are anti bacterial so they'd be good for using on others. But if you want to splurge on yourself, definitely Wayne Goss and Especially Chikuhodo ( also on Beautylish ). You definitely cannot go wrong with the quality and feel of Japanese brushes, they are worth every penny.
Also, I would like to add that MAC eye brushes are of good quality. I definitely recommend that you must buy the MAC 217 Blending brush, it makes blending a 1 second non existent problem... I was so content with the ability of this brush that I actually bought two. You can turn it over and use it to apply a crease shadow. Some girls even like to use it to blend out concealer. It's definitely a must have!
Billy B ( sold on here ) are also more affordable and good quality... he makes amazing eye brushes. ( Billy B is the Make up artist responsible for alot of brands such as L'oreal.. ) I own some of his brushes and I do very much love them, his eye brush #9 is perfect for applying liner, smudging out the bottom lash line, contour the nose, etc.

Thank you so much kitty for your advice I was just looking at the Wayne gods and the chikuhodo brushes and I noticed they are made of animal hair I know the Wayne goss brushes are cruelty free are the Chikuhodo brushes cruelty free?

You're welcome. As far as I know, they are cruelty free! I did ask Beautylish for you and they confirmed that they are =)

Okay than you very much for your help kitty as of right now I think I'm going to invest in the bdellium brushes because the Wayne goss or the Chikuhodo brushes are a little out of my price range, but I'll defiantly keep them in mind for later

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help =)

I have heard very good things about Zoeva, and bedellium as Kitty mentioned. Sigma brushes are just not well made, the hair is low quality and doesn't afford the right spring, resistance, softness, durability and longevity. They have a huge following, but I find most gals who enjoy them really haven't tried many other options to compare. Kitty mentioned those great brands, and while buying a whole set is our of most peoples budget, try picking out a few that will be investment tools that will be with you a long time. I find myself liking a few brushes and wanting multiples of those tools, so sets aren't my favorite way to go. Just be sure to wash them with a safe soap, I ruined my precious Rae Morris Kabuki brush (expensive- most loved brushes!!) Here's how to wash them and take the best care possible. I was taught this technique by a Japanese fude crazy gal, she knows her stuff! All the best!! http://youtu.be/0_dxejcdKP4.

As far as MAC, they do make a few unique staples, the 217 Kitty mentioned for blending, the 219 pencil brush (LOVE) and the 239 is the perfect pigment, dark shadow and glitter packing brush! I've enjoyed all the excited brush rambling, can't wait to see what art you'll create with your new babies!😁

I love my brushes from realTECHniques by Samantha chapman, they're good quality but not too expensive, I have the bronzer, blush, eye shadow, and powder brushes all from that company/brand and I love them!- hope this helps you💋

Out of the 3 brands you posted I have only tried the It cosmetics. I own a couple of them and absolutely love them! They are super duper soft and have not shed on me at all.

I've been looking at some Zoeva brushes, but they are pricier with shipping to the US. Wondering if they are maybe not worth the extra effort. I have a bunch of bdellium tools I'd like to try. The luxury brushes kitty mentioned are nice, but I'm having a hard time justifying the prices as well. I'm not a MUA so I just want something that works for daily use. I love my Kashuk tools, but the problem is the range is pretty small and they go away. Because they are made for Target they are just made for high turnover, drugstore clientele, not for people who want to be able to go back and repurchase the tools over and over.

Sandra are you talking about the high end brushes like Wayne Goss and Chuikohodo or the Zoeva brushes? I have one Billy B brush, but want MOAR!!
