Does anyone know of any good quality, affordable makeup brushes?

Elf has some for $3 each. I use them because I can't afford $40 brushes and they work perfectly for me.

Thanks Shanae J. but I've tried them before but they didn't pick up a lot of pigment and they shed on me.

Ecotools are pretty good. You can probably buy a set of them at Target.

I agree on the elf brushes, I find it better to buy them individually because I bought a package of 10 and the quality was terrible compared to the same brushes bought individually.

Real techniques are GREAT brushes. They are a reasonable price and can be found in drug stores/grocery stores/ulta..sephora etc. They are great quality and last forever. They blend make-up flawlessly and rarely ever shed. I own a whole bunch! Highly recommend! :)

Okay, I'm probably going to upset a few people here, but I utterly LOATHE the Real Techniques brushes. They're so scratchy and horrible, they don't pick up product, they don't deposit what they do pick up, and they are horrible at blending. I wouldn't waste my money on any more of those, it's just such a shame that I bought them in the first place. I have a single Elf brush because I wanted one for glitter so I wasn't destroying a nice brush, but it's not bad. I prefer the Elf brushes to Real Techniques brushes. HOWEVER, Jackie has recommended BDellium tools to me, and they're not expensive, they have very nice sets and I think they're extremely worth it, if you're looking for a set.

I'm currently testing a foundation brush from Real Techniques...I agree with Hannah...the blending quality is horrible. It involves so much labor to blend in the foundation that I want to scream. While I have another brush that is from It Cosmetics that is so effortless in foundation application. Love that brush.

Sonia Kashuk has a few decent brushes in her line. I've learned that a majority of the affordable brush lines have hits and misses. The only complete set of brushes I own is from Bobbi Brown and everything else is a mix of other lines.

I agree with Hannah, I was hearing so many good things about bdellium brushes from Jackie that I bought myself some. Despite the fact that mine seem to shed a little bit, I LOVE them. I got the yellow handled Studio brushes. I also use Coastal Scents brushes, they're pretty nice as well. DO NOT get Real Techniques, I thought they were flat out awful!

You should check out Morphe, Crown Brushes and even some Coastal Scent brushes. I have yet to order from Bdellium but I've heard great things about the quality.

I like ecotools for cheap brushes.

I bought real techniques blush brush to test out the line (and as I needed a new blush brush) absolutly hate it. it is indeed scratchy.
I bought a 2 sets of bh cosmetics brushes (along with a couple pallets, foundations n some other odds and ends lol. all for $50 for a holiday sale).. hate them..but I must say, I only used them once it twice. went back to ecotools. ;-)
