It's not going to lift. Color doesn't lift out color, love, you'll need to either strip it yourself or have it done. I highly recommend seeing a professional. I'm a hairdresser and so many people come in with excess damage from box coloring and at home color removers

I agree with Kendall.. but if professional hair dying isn't an option for you, you'll have to buy a color stripper from a drugstore and then dye it. Either way it'll be damaging, but box dye will damage it more than professional dye. Then hair treatments and masks are a must after.. because of he damage that will be done.

I agree with Kendall. I am a professional color convert and will never pick up a box kit again. My hair is finally starting to forgive me haha!

Shanae also spot on. I swear after I use one and only argan dye and developer and follow up with the Joico protein treatment and Joico deep conditioner my hair looks and feels healthier than ever. When it comes down to it, it saves you money too since you don't need to buy another box every time you need a touch up!

I am also a hair stylist and the reason the highlights of burgundy showed up is most likely from where the black began fading the most at. If you're trying to take black hair color and go to a burgundy, you will need to strip the black from the hair (I recommend going to a salon, as bleach can be very damaging if not done properly) and then coloring your hair the burgundy color you want. How long did you wait from the time you did the black and burgundy? I'd say wait at least 3-6 months before bleaching out your entire head. Use conditioning treatments or hot oil treatments to get your hair back to health before you strip it out.
