Gel Nail Problem

Okay, so I usually get gel nails with a coat of gel polish on top (ex. Gelish, OPI Gelcolor). I usually get a coat of OPI Gelcolor in Bubble Bath with a white French tip. Recently my nails have been turning brown! I don't smoke! I don't use self-tanner! And I always wear gloves when I'm cleaning! I don't know what's turning them brown. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix this without going back to the salon?

Do you wear foundation? I always have the problem of getting makeup on my nails. Sometimes cleaning them or using makeup remover on them helps a little.

Yeah, but I always wash my hands with makeup remover after I'm done. :/

I had the same problem after using too much gel polish and having nailpolish on constantly. Your nails are deprived of Oxygen. Let them breathe and theyll go back to normal. Don't worry at all :)

Nails are "dead" just like hair so there's no way to deprive them of oxygen or allow them to "breathe." Gel nails are pretty damaging, I have them myself and my nail is significantly thinner than it used to be.

My natural nails are fine. It's the layer of gel polish that is stained brown.

Have you had them for a while? The gel might just be getting old

No. They are less than a week old. This is the second time this has happened to me.

Darn. I'll talk to them about that next time I get them done.
