What are some makeup do's and dont's?

Do moisturize. Do prime. Do blend.
Don't clump mascara. Don't blow in your brushes to get pigment out. Don't do smokey eyes and bold lips at the same time, or at least not during the day.

Do match your neck with foundation. Do moisturize all over, including lips! Do cover dark circles.
Don't make c shaped eyebrows. Don't cake it on. Don't re apply mascara later.

Do keep your makeup area clean, throw out makeup that's older than 2 years. Don't mix powders, your pigments screw up.

Do wash your brushes. Do take it off at night. Do focus on features you want to play up. Do blend foundation into your hairline.
Don't over bronze. Don't use shimmer on all of your features. Don't stop having fun with your makeup!

Do what you makes you feel good. Don't let people tell you you're doing it wrong. There are no rules in makeup.

I love kayli's answer! Make up is art work, no one tells you how to do your art work.

Kayli I was going to say the same thing ;-) but their is two rules don't over pluck the brows and find the right foundation shade.other then that just explore and you will know what works for you.

A mix of what Kayli said and a few other things. Like, yes, please if you're pale as hell, don't go putting on a NC/W30/45/ whatever foundation and concealer, haha. Priming your eyeshadows if your shadows are prone to creasing should be essential too.
But yeah, if you wanna wear blue lips, pink lips, nude, smokey eyes, brights, neutral eye, whatever during the day wherever then do it.

I agree with Kayli! There are no rules to makeup. But yes, like everyone agrees- make sure your foundation matches your skin time. This will make a perfect canvas =D

When people don't blend their foundation so there's a line between the neck and head. Not blending eyeshadows! It really bugs me!

-wears bold eyes and bold lips- That's not a makeup don't. That's more of a personal preference thing. I don't do theatre and I don't go to parties (hell, I don't have friends period so no parties for me and I don't go out at night. I go to the grocery store, retail stores, and the bookstore cafe in my life). That as a "makeup don't" is absolutely absurd to me.

I think the number one thing women flub on is eyebrows. I think it's important to let a professional shape them for you. I see gorgeous women, but bad eyebrows throws off the entire look.
