I've never had silk, I know a lot of people who have but ill only speak from my personal experience. I've has acrylics and liquid gels and between those 2 I'd go with liquid gels 100%. I used to use acrylics and they would yellow and damage my nails and look really ugly between fills, then my nail tech suggested liquid gels and he was the first one in our state at the time to have it so I was a little unsure but they're amazing. I had them off and on mainly on for a long time and my nails weren't damaged much, obviously a little but no where near the damage from acrylics and I could easily go 3 weeks to a month between fills with them still looking great and of course costing less money from going less. best of all when I would do a french or light color they never yellowed or stained like acrylics did. happy birthday I'd love to see how they turn out with what ever you choose.
