matte lips...what am I doing wrong?!

When I wear matte lipstick it feathers. Yes I use liner and primer and powder to set, then reapply. But I have a habit of rubbing my lips together...is that why it's feathering?

I have mac viva la gaga and a nude mac one... I also have a Nyx plum matte

Meghan, rubbing your lips might be why. I know when I wear a matte lip to work, it will wear and feather because I'm talking all day. Try applying thin layers of the lipstick and blotting in between layers. You can also try a reverse lip liner to create more of a barrier for your lipstick. Many brands have them, you can either get a clear one or just do what I do and use a pencil that matches your skin tone right around your lip line. Good luck!
