I bought Revlon Colorstay Foundation last night and took all the proper steps to apply it and my face still looks cakey and patchy. I don't normally wear foundation, I just wanna get that smooth, air brushed look to my skin. I can list my steps and products used, I just really need help. :( Thanks everyone.
Exfoliated last night.
Used Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner, let dry.
Used Simple Rich Moisturizer, let dry.
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer Perfecting.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Oily Skin.
Realized my face was the way it is so I moisturized in dry spots.
Applied ELF High Def Powder.
Loreal True Match Powder in darker shade as bronzer.

It's probably not even your skin, haha. That foundation is so thick, it's not even funny. No matter how little you use or what you use to apply it, it looks cakey. No joke. Even if you properly prep your skin..it gives an unnatural finish and looks godawful on the skin regardless. I had the same problem, I wanted to love it because it got people so hype but it honestly was the worst thing foundation ever lol.

She realized the dry spots weren't going away I'm assuming so she put more moisturizer on those spots.

Sorry I don't really have any advice other than try a different foundation :/

Yea I was grasping at straws trying to make it work because I thought it was me and not the foundation, since everyone seemed to have luck with it.

I'm still thinking it's the foundation because my face was super oily when using it (which is what it caters to) and I tried every way to apply it. Lol! Setting spray made it separate all weird. Just didn't have luck with it whatsoever :( haha.

@Em Usually I use a BB cream with spf in it, I'm not sure if that's good enough though.
I guess now I need a lightweight foundation for oily skin. I don't need too much coverage, I just wanna look smooth and airbrushed. :(

I'd say just try a different foundation, possibly a lighter one of you don't need much coverage

Thanks Em. I'll look into those two foundations. Otherwise maybe my skin just wasn't made for foundations. :/
