So I joined a class where we have to swim, & my armpits have always been dark! Even when I shave them good, does anyone know how I can get them my natural color please 😭 it's urgent.

I lightened mine by rubbing lemon juice on them at night an during the day used a dove deodorant for dark underarms, I think it's called eventone or something like that.

That can be caused by using a too-dull razor that leaves stubble, dead skin cells like Em L said, and some people's armpit skin is just naturally darker than the surrounding skin. Try a brand new razor, and you can use a slice of potato rubbed on the skin to exfoliate and lighten it a bit. Also, don't worry about it too much! Everyone in the class will be exercising, no one will care at all or even notice the state of your underarms :)

I struggled with that too. Some deodorants contain chemicals that make your skin darker, you could try a natural one. Also shaving too often can also cause the armpits to darken, so try not doing it daily or try an epilator or waxing. And like the ladies said exfoliating helps a lot! It significantly lightened my armpits.

I will say, as a swimmer of over 5 years now, noooo one notices or cares. you honestly don't even have to shave. (I mean, most competitive swimmers do, including boys, but only cuz it makes you faster) so don't get too worried about it.

AndreasChoice has a video about that on YouTube.

I used to have the same issues with dark underarms. I tried many different creams and DIY's and nothing seemed to work. After a few youtube videos I came across an epilator and that worked. I have been using the epilator for about a year and seen a great improvement.

I used to deal with the same problem. What worked for me...leaving the razor alone and going with waxing to remove underarm hair. I exfoliate and cleanse the area with Nubian African Black soap. I didn't change my deodorant either because I didn't find that to be the issue with discoloration....it was the shaving that was causing it.
