Please share your experiences, and opinions.
Wanting to get mine done, but have heard a few horror stories and rumours.
Also, can't decided if I want the top or bottom done, so what do you feel looks best?

I wanted mine done for ages but I've always been terrified of needles so that turned me off getting it done, so I don't have a personal experience. But a couple of my friends got theirs pierced. Two of my friends' bellybuttons got infected, one of my friends had to just take it out because it was so badly infected so she never got it repierced, and my other friends bellybutton cleared up but she said that now she regrets getting it done.
But it does look really really nice and I honestly would love to get it done!

Cons:
•judgement
•painful to wear tight high waisted anything for extended periods of time
•cleaning it
•can migrate
•Can get caught on things
Pros:
•beautiful
•in my opinion they have a slimming effect
•so many jewelry choices
•doesn't hurt overly
•once it's healed you can get it caught all you want with minumal pain
•low maintenance
I personally like top piercings much better if you're only getting one and not both, as they seem less awkward

I looked after mine beautifully, but it rejected anyway. It's the only piercing I've had that hasn't worked with me but you win some, you lose some. :)

I even had mine for a year, it was healed but veeeryy thin.. And as soon as I put a new ring in, it was dangly, it rejected and ripped out on its own
I don't mean to scare you, not everyone's rejects.

I have both top and bottom so I like both just as much lol but to answer your question;
pros: they're pretty
- when I wear crop tops with my high waisted things and they peek out I think they're cute lol.
-mine didn't really hurt it's just the jewellery part that seemed to hurt a little more but nothing unbearable and it's over quickly
cons:
- have to be really careful not to get it caught on things during the first year
- While healing, mine had a little bubble thing that looked like the inside of my belly was coming out but my friends have had that to, not sure how normal that is but it went away both times with cleaning as usual and healed fine (but still a con because you'll freak out if it happens but don't panic lol)
- Long healing time but Yano, these things happen lol

Oh an definitely high waisted things, be careful at first or make sure they're on the looser side cause even now when my jeans rub on them for a day they get a little tender for a few hours but also goes away.

Chloe, it's very dangerous to take out a belly piercing when it is infected because of where it is it can lead to many complications. It is always best to go to a doctor if your belly button is infected. Mine was infected after 6 or 8 months and I was given antibiotics and it was fine.
No horror stories with mine, got it done when I was 15, it didn't hurt, I cleaned it 2 times a day and gave it salt baths. It got infected after a good while (I probably thought I didn't have to clean it anymore or something), got antibiotics and it cleared up. I still have it and love it. I have the top done but I'm thinking about getting the bottom done too.

Like Caitrona H said it is dangerous to take out a piercing while its infected because there is a chance it can heal over and trap the infection inside which can end up causing some scary complications. I have the bottom of my belly done and the only time it's been infected is when wearing terrible quality jewelry. I had bought jewelry from Ardenes and for 6 months my piercing was swollen and pussing and I cleaned it every day and nothing would stop it so I switched it back to the original jewelry I had it pierced with and within a couple days it was healed happy and normal. So heads up that crappy quality jewelry can be a problem. I love mine now though! I've had it for a few years and it's one of my favourite piercings! I just think belly piercings look so good on the bottom XD
