I recently picked up Babette for $25 from the Australian Lime Crime online store, and I've have to say I'm not all that impressed. I've only ever owned Maybelline - Fatal Red and Loreal - Rasin (so I'm a lipstick newby) and their formulas seem so much more opaque and just generally nicer. I don't know if I'm just doing it wrong or if their website is deceptive.

Oh wow. In the first pic it looks almost the same but not quite. Maybe they put on more layers of the lipstick?

I've tried doing that but whenever I rub my lips together the lipstick just moves around and leaves lines on my lips?

Ah I see. Then yeah the colors on the website are not 100 percent accurate. And in the second pic the colors are wayy off.

You could try a lip primer, maybe you'll get what you want out of this lipstick :)

I agree with olivia and breeze. if the lip primer doesn't work then use a concealer then apply the lipstick.

They most likely used a lip pencil with a similar color as well. I personally was not too fond of their liquid lipsticks.

Honestly,
I won't buy their products after the controversy a few years ago. I just can't trust the brand or creator anymore. Friends that have bought the products say they just aren't pigmented and have very little staying power. I'd say it's not really worth the hype..

I've tried concealer underneath and it still slips and slides everywhere, which is a shame because they make it seem like it's the only lip product you need. What happened a few years ago Kendra?

I bought some of their products and I'm not very impressed. I also think their owner is terribly unprofessional and has terrible business practices, so I refuse to use their products anymore... not that I was very disappointed because I wasn't impressed by the products in the first place.

Well, no product is going to look the exact same on every person. The pigmentation of your own lips plays a huge part in that. I actually think it looks good on your lips. I really have no other day though because I've ne'er tried their products.

I was looking at youtube swatches and reviews of limecrime lipstick and they seemed to have different fomulas some were much more opaque and pigmented than others, so it might just be that particular colour you chose.
