I'm looking into schools too! I saw on Marinellos site that you can take certain classes like that. They're shorter and cost more from what I saw but you can check for yourself (:

Some schools offer week long or weekend workshops, but they are often very expensive and don't really teach you much.
I've found that most of my cosplays don't need any major appliances (e.g. foam prosthetics) and most things can be achieved either through trial and error or free tutorials. Check out Goldie Starling on YouTube, she has excellent SFX tutorials.

Okay yeah that's a full cowl and face. I don't know of any short courses that teach all of that, though you should definitely look. You're in Canada, yes? Maybe Complections in Toronto offers workshops (I have no clue if that is close to you at all, but may be a starting point?).
