** when i said alba is a better alternative, i just meant for petroleum products in general! not on the eyes.. i don't do any of that stuff, i really don't want to put anything like that on my eyelashes.

Use castor oil! Not Vaseline! Vaseline has stuff in it that causes cancer!

I use both! I have been using for only a few days Vaseline and Castor Oil on eyelashes and eyebrows, my eyelashes are already longer! Love it.

@carrie Vaseline is proven to be triple filtered so it doesn't cAuse cancer. petroleum has smal traces of carcinogen in it but Vaseline is proven 0% carcinogen

I use Vaseline :) it's works within 2weeks! plus it's cheap :) castor oil isn't exactly something I'd want to put on my eyes:/

castor oil is just oil from castor beans its completely fine, especially if you can find organic. I've been using castor oil to wash my face for the last month and my eyebrows which were extra sparse have grown in all over.. it actually accelerates hair growth so much that its even increasing the amount of UNwanted facial hair too lol. use castor oil!

I would like to point out that latisse, the leading product for eyelash enhancer, has no known ingredients that will make hair longer, thicker and darker yet it Does! So take that! It's not just placebo. Specialist still don't know why it enhances eyelashes or eyebrows.

Castor oil is great, though coconut oil is also worth a try! I use that to take off my eye makeup and it's definitely been really helping my lashes.

"Bimatoprost is the active pharmaceutical ingredient in the formulation of Latisse and is a structural prostaglandin analog, a lipid compound derived from fatty acids designed to bind to prostaglandin (PG) receptors. PG receptors are present in hair, particularly in the dermal papilla and outer root sheath. PG receptors are involved in the development and regrowth of the hair follicle by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen or growth phase."

hey maybe castor oil does work, ive never tried it and im curious now to try it but i am not so sure that its making your hair grow, if that was the case it would be much more widespreed knowledge seeing as though people are always searching for the end all for hair loss. i just think its moisturizing it and making it more healthy so fewer break off thus creating a thicker texture and appearance.

i think ari is right about the hair being healthier so it gives the appearance of growth or thicker hair. that's what biotin does, for me at least. my hair doesn't fall out as much, so my hair looks thicker.
