I've attached a photo of my hair. It's not very close up but seeing as I'm not too fond of it at the moment I haven't been taking many up close and personals.
Thanks!

If anyone has suggestions as to a color as well, that would be a great help!

Try cocunut oil! and a caramel or black would look nice. I actually like the red brown color though.

I would say you need deep conditioning masks and oils, like argan or cocunut raw oil and a professional hair mask which you can buy at a saloon. and colour-wise, I would try to give back at least a little life to your hair before doing ANY more dying. good luck! :)

Thank you! I would love a caramel color but I don't know to achieve that yet. Maybe I'll wait a few more weeks before attempting anything. I think what set me off was that my dad came to visit and he said my hair is his exact color and I've never liked his shade. Not what I wanted to hear ha! :)

Hi hunter! I agree with Julia K. Do masks and deep condition your hair until it gets back to a healthier state where you can dye it again. Funny what you said about your dad. Lol at least you'll make him happy every time he sees you :)

Bleach can damage curl pattern, so it makes sense that a lot of dying can too. For that reason I'd be hesitant to dye it again, just to avoid further damaging the curl pattern. I'm also not sure how much the damage is permanent and how reparable it is. I would try hair masks to fix the curls, as suggested above. Sally's sells an ion one in little white packets with red writing that I like. You can also make your own by blending a banana, a super ripe avocado and a couple cups of melted coconut oil together (if you don't have a blender, baby food bananas work well). Apply it thickly all over your hair, put it in a plastic bag or lightly heat it with a hair dryer and rinse after 30 mins. The color that comes out is disgusting but shampoo and condition as normal and your hair will be super moisturized after. After a few treatments like this, if there isn't any improver you might just have to grow it out. At that point I'd definitely dye it, so it's at least the color you want if not the style. If the treatments are working, I'd wait until your hair is healthy to dye again, as Yanin suggested.

Never thought of putting baby food on my hair but I'll try anything at this point! Thank you all for your comments. It's gotten to a point where I can at least clip it back a little so I don't hate it as much while it grows out. It's weird though. When I had the blonde my hair felt much healthier for the first few months and then all of a sudden it all came out. My dads a stylist oddly enough but its hard to get opinions that aren't personal based with him.

You need to get your hair back in good shape before dying it. & I highly suggest getting it done at a salon so that you don't keep having all these dye job issues. coconut oil will really help your hair. I use the loreal oleo therapy mask & Aussie 3 minute miracle deep conditioner. I leave the mask in longer than it says (it says only 5, but I typically leave it for about 15). as for the coconut oil you can leave that in however long you'd like. I leave it in for a few hours, but overnight is also an option. have you tried the shea moisture curl smoothie? I've onlyheard good things about it.

Not yet! I keep meaning to pick it up but always leave without it hand. I'll make sure I get it over the weekend. We have the Argan One'n Only spray and it does help the ends. It's difficult because it's hard to have second day hair with the state it is in now and I keep having to fight the urge to redo it. All these suggestions are a great help. I would love for my natural hair color to come back too so I'll keep letting it grow and be patient.

Don't color your hair for a while...mine is thick and can take a lot but with how your health was and dying it over and over again it most likely damaged your hair...just leave it go for a while it needs to breathe you can't keep coloring it and expect your hair to stay perfect that's why most hair stylists recommend 4-6 weeks for hair color...it gives it time to breath.

Ah I caved... I did a medium golden brown over today. First time since I cut it. The color was fading and it was driving me bonkers. It doesn't look bad. I also heard about a dollar store product called Salon Selectives Argan Oil Moisturizing Hair Shampoo & Conditioner and the person said that her ringlets came back after using. It seemed to help and left my hair really soft too!
Thanks again for the help! I know I didn't exactly take your advice to the T' but the masks information will really be helpful. :)
