I haven't seen a trend like that. And I hope to god it isn't. 😐

The first picture looks like it's a unfinished banana cut and the second one I've seen around for years but it's usually because they can't blend it out to achieve a gradient but had they positioned the shadow in the outer corner into a point it could pass as a graphic look.

I've see thanks almost everywhere and all I think is maybe they ddnt know or don't wnt to blend. I just think blended shadow looks more ummm dunno more like you know wht you doing and you got tht shit down I dunno if tht made sence lol.

If they said it was a trend it's because so many are not informed on how to blend so it continues from one person to another like clones and everyone thinks they're doing it right. It's like the contour and highlight method it can go bad quick when you watch or look at filtered pics that still show harsh lines and wrong techniques lol

I think it would look cool closer to the eye, like a second layer of eyeliner. Otherwise it looks like something that would only make sense in ads for fancy designer fashion labels

It's a common mistake that will eventually get better if she keeps practicing.

Agree with the ladies above, I hope it's not a trend! Like Alma said its probably because someone didn't know how to blend properly (not trying to be offensive). Before I invested in actual brushes (thankfully this situation happened years ago and no one really remembers!) this would happen to me when I tried to apply shadow with those sponge applicators you receive in eyeshadow compacts from the drugstore! But if we didn't make mistakes, how would we be expected to learn from them? :)

Well, my favorite cashier at Walgreens must be following the YTuber in question because she does the exact same thing...well used to do till my mua daughter couldn't take it anymore and pulled her aside to show her how to blend. Which she appreciated to the fullest. As a trend...I certainly hope not. As far as learning proper techinque...I think we're all guilty along the way for committing some cardinal sin when it comes to makeup.
