I'm going to a fashion show with my makeup teacher next Saturday and I'm doing makeup for 6 models. 50s modern makeup. They're going to have crazy updo hair and beautiful outfits that are interesting. I was thinking porcelain skin, well groomed brows, white winged eyeliner and bold orange lips. I want some feedback ❤️❤️❤️ comment away, ladies :)

Look at the stars of that time, like Elizabeth Taylor & Marilyn Monroe. I, like Jacqlyn, also do not think orange lip or white winged liner.

I actually really love your idea Jenna. When I think about "modern 50s" I automatically, and I don't know why, think about what a woman in the fifties would assume the future of makeup would look like. Same techniques and styles but with bolder unexpected colors... So pretty much what you think you should do in the first place ;)

If you wanted to do like a modern twist on 50s makeup, I'd opt for a like a shiny grey or charcoal liner and maybe a brick red lippie. So you have the same dark-liner-and-red-lip look, but it's just taken up a notch.

I think you were thinking more 60's makeup, but they had great style too. 50's is red lips, shoulder length hair, and slicked back hair for boys but your female models could wear it.

She's seeking a modern take on the style rather than a classic one. I love your original idea. Some lime green would be fun as well.
