I know I should go to a salon for this but I'm a college student and on a budget so I'd like to find products that would help me achieve this hair color.

For the brand, I'm honestly not to sure, but I can definitely recommend some methods that will help :) First you will want to section off your hair for two main reasons:
1. So the very top of your hair doesn't accidentally get any product on it
2. To ensure all of the hair that you want dyed is covered somewhat evenly and to your preference
When you apply the dye with a brush, be sure to grab small sections at a time to ensure that all of the hair gets covered how you like. Also, if you want to concentrate the color mostly on the ends, try saturating the ends a bit more than you would the upper half. Since you're creating an ombré effect, when you reach the middle to upper half of your hair, you'll want to blend the color upwards (without adding any additional product onto the brush) to make it fit in a bit better. I've dyed my hair ombré as well and these tips have never let me down; hope this helped and good luck Amanda!

Also, I am unsure of whether or not you will need to bleach it before following the steps above; I don't personally think you will need to, but I would definitely ask someone else (like Kendall O.) since I am not 100% on this.
