That's more like a wedding dress. For a graduation party, I would go with a dark purple tight dress that's cut open down on one leg. Pretty much a simple dress with dramatic accessory and a dramatic hairstyle.

For graduation its a little much and looks sort of weddingy. The dress is really pretty though.
