How do I photograph my makeup?

Hey! I see so many beautiful pics of eye makeup, lip swatches, etc. and I was wondering how you ladies take such great pics? I have two Sony Cybershots and can not take a good pic of my makeup. The colors never show up right, nor does the detail. Do you use a special camera? Do you use flash or no flash? I have experimented both ways but the pics don't come out right. Any tips/suggestions?

Hi Deriniti!
I've found that lighting is key to a great photo. Try using natural lighting when you can and using the macro setting on your camera. Here are a couple of articles on beautylish that might help you out:
