I only wash my hair once a week with sulphate free shampoo and yet my roots are already poking through! I wanted to save money by doing it myself but having my gray roots poke through after only 2 washes is awful! I used Feria- is there a better option? It's not regrowth it just washed out sooner on my virgin hair whereas the rest has faded nicely. I hate walking around with these roots...

I like olia. Plus it comes with oils to keep the hair hydrated and its ammonia free

Olia has been my go to at home dye since they came out not sure how well it covers greys tho Greg hair is a totally different texture than your reg hair & it can be very hard to cover

Agree the olia is amazing! I've used some decent dyes from Sally beauty supply too, like ion.

Thank you ladies! My grays aren't complete coarse and wiry (yet) but stubborn-yes. It sounds like Olia is worth a shot.

Is it just the gray that you see? Hair grows approximately 1/2 inch a month so two weeks is still 1/4 inch out growth. No matter what color you use you are going to have outgrowth.

Thank you Catherine but no it's not outgrowth, it just didn't hold the color as well. I can see where has faded away. Do you have a recommendation for resistant grey hairs?

Of course I always recommend going to a professional. But it sounds to me like you've got some stubborn grays! Matrix makes a line especially for grays, look for one especially designed for gray. Let me see what I can find...

Thanks Catherine! We are saving for house and I just can't pay over $150 every 5-6 weeks. Let me know if you come up with anything else!

Haha I feel ya!! I didn't read great reviews on Olia, but the Zotos has a color at Sally's called AGE beautiful that's says it has 100 percent gray coverage. Also had great reviews. I would try it first. Good luck!!

Well I hate the name (obviously) but I will definitely try AGE Beautiful Catherine! Thank you so much for your help.
