How should I trim my own hair? And should it be wet? What kind of scissors should I use?

I always trim my own hair. It could be wet, or dry. I personally prefer dry because it shows you how it looks off the bar when dry (since hair expands when wet). Always always use hair scissors, they need to be very sharp. Do NOT use regular/house scissors, they're not meant for it, and it will cause split ends

I started trimming my own hair. I do it in small sections and since my hair is curly I can't stretch a strand so I have to trim in its natural state...dry and not wet so I know where to cut the damaged areas. Do not cut your hair wet as you run the chance of cutting too much.
The techinque is called dusting and I learned from watching my stylist do it to my hair.Pro scissors are a must.

I suggest getting it trimmed one last time at the hair dressers and then really watch what she/he does to your hair ( like if it's wet or dry what technique she/He uses ) and ask her/him things about it what's the rights and the wrongs , what scissors to use and stuff like that :)
