Hey ladies.
So I'm trying to figure out how to make my foundation lighter or darker if need be. I'm NC42 and I've been told via their live chat to use NC30 for lighter and NC50 for darker. Does this sound right?

Yeah I thought that as well Sarah so when one of the MAC staff suggested NC30 I was like huh?? Lol. And I also think NC50 will be way too dark. I just want to make it a little dark for when it's summer.

Thanks Sarah and Jacqueline :) both very helpful!! I just didn't want to go out and buy a new foundation when I thought I could get something to mix it to match me PERFECTLY! Thanks again ladies xx

I agree with the Mac rep for this reason..
there are shades btwn NC30 - NC42. and there are shades btwn nc42 - nc50.
but if you use the next shade up or down to mix with there isn't going to b much difference.
if you want a new foundation all together the. that's a different story. but if you want to see a difference in nc42 for summer you need to use nc50 or even the next one up just to add a little to adjust for summer. if you use nc44 to MIX with you definitely won't see much of a change. same with lightening a bit for winter.
