My hair is just about shoulder length but it's also really thick when it's short. It already has waves to it and a few defined curls on the bottom layer. If I want to style it I'll usually just straighten it but I just bought a Nume Reverse Wand on sale and I want to try it out. I attempted to curl my hair tonight on my freshly washed hair but it turned out to be a huge, thick, frizz-ball. I typically don't curl my hair ever so I don't really know the best way to do it. Should I straighten it first? Should I use second day hair? Help please!! I have my homecoming dance on Saturday and I'm hoping to curl my hair.

I like to do curls on second day hair better than freshly washed hair. I also straighten first, but only the top areas that I won't be curling. I use a heat protectant/shine spray before I start, and hair spray section by section and once more all over when I'm finished. You could try using some Moroccan Argan oil before hand to help tame frizzies as well. Or sometimes I put a little bit of it in my palms and rub them together then lightly rub my palms over the frizzy spots to tame them down. Hope this helped and have a great time at your Homecoming dance!
