Hihihi. I have made a new account after months of inactivity, so I figured I'd make a post to get back in the swing of things. This is a review for Splat dye in 'Deep Emerald'.

I was elated when I saw that Splat came out with a gorgeous green dye, so I had to snag it. Let me warn you if you plan on dying your hair any shade with this brand, it is definitely not true to name/pictures on the box I.e the purple is fuscia, the blue is purple & the red is bright pink. This dye is no different. I wanted dark green but ended up with a strange aqua color. Also, the color fades fairly quickly & if you get this stuff on anything other than hair you're in for a horrible time.

Bottom line: I can deal with this color because I aspire to be a mermaid. is it what I wanted? no. is the dye of good quality? hardly. will I purchase from Splat again? only if Sally's is closed & I have the impulse to dye my hair.
stars out of 5? 2, and that's generous.

So ladies, please stay away from this gunk, unless you want ocean colored hair & stains everywhere.

The bleach is a different story, sometimes I'll buy their dye just to use the bleach it comes with.

O-m-g I absolutely cannot stand this stupid hair dye!! I used it back in like October to dye the under layer of my hair purple and I went to the salon the other day to get my hair dyed for prom and first they tried something similar to bleach but less damaging to get it out (mind you it was really faded out since I wash my hair everyday and never touched up the color) and it didn't do anything but turn it a bright pink. so they had to use bleach and it still didn't take out any of the color! I had strips of silver hair with pink running right down the middle of it! you don't know how upset I was I wanted to cry! the original lol I was going for was a light brown and subtle highlights, because of this hair dye I spent 5 hours at the salon and still didn't end up with the look I wanted. everywhere I go people say they like it so I guess I'm growing on it but I really wish I would have known this was going to happen befor I even touched this piece of shit hair dye :/

I had a similar experience as Gabrielle. I used the dark red and purple and my hair came out a beautiful magenta color. The dye lasted... and lasted and lasted. When I wanted to change it, months later, I tried washing it with clarifying shampoo, even dish soap many times until the color was somewhat faded, but after weeks it still didn't seem to be going anywhere. I bleached it and it just turned bright pink. I bleached it again and it turned brighter. I dyed over it and it showed right through the dye. I have used manic panic and other brands many times and have never had this much getting a direct dye out of my hair! If you're looking to do an unnatural color permanently this may be the brand for you! Temporary? ha, not so much. Thanks for the review Sarah. I do think the color looks great on you!

I actually love splats red hair dye. I originally dyed my hair with garniers olia intense red and it looked horrible, then when I went over it with splat, it looked exactly like I wanted it to.

I hate splat, it destroyed my hair. But you look good. :)
And dawn and Gabrielle, you shouldn't use bleach on any unnatural colors, it can push it further into the hair causing it to stain making it nearly impossible to get out. Unfortunately, most hair dressers don't have much experience with them and don't know what to do. I have a permanent mint green on my hair because of it.
