I have 2 of the knock off beauty blenders (the 4-5 dollar ones) and I use those for my foundation and concealer. I was wondering if the original beauty blender is the same as the knockoff ones or better? I don't want to spend 20 something dollars on it if it does the same thing! What do you guys think??

I think the Real Techniques is a perfect dupe for Beauty Blender fans.

I returned my beauty blender, I didn't really understand the hype surrounding it and I still don't honestly.

A sponge is a sponge, honestly :p
I really love my Beauty Blender, but I can't imagine it being far better than cheaper dupe sponges.

The knock offs I've tried don't compare at all to the original. I've repurchased it multible times. I'm going to try the real techniques one next time around though thanks Robbery!

The Real Techniques one is great. I haven't used the real one but I'm with Kyra, a sponge is a sponge. They both work pretty much the same way, there's not really a difference in "technology" the way I see it. And eventually it will get ratty and you'll need a new one so I'd go with the more reasonable priced one first. If you aren't impressed you can try the "real" one. I honestly think they all work the same though lol.

I haven't tried the original but I love the one I got from Walmart/Soho London. I just don't see the point in spending $20 for a damn sponge when there are so many comparable products that do the same thing, you just have to find one that works for you :)
@Christine: Love your profile pic btw :)

They're aight. Lol. Their too soft. I like work with more firm that will let me have complete control of what I'm trying to apply. I rather use the disposable sponge wedges. Almost the same but a quarter of the price for a whole pack.

I didn't see the hype of the beauty blender or its knock offs. I'm with Diggie I still use the wedges.

No problem, Danny. I love it. Even if it is the same as a sponge, I like the lifespan of my Real Techniques sponge. :)

I use a dupe of it and I tried the actual beauty blender at a friends house, and honestly saw no difference at all.

You ever heard of "you get what you pay for"?
I mean, is it expensive because of who's selling it or is it expensive 'cause of the quality of the sponge. Is it really softer? I'd like to hope so, but can it just be the fact that any expensive beauty product wether a sponge or brush automatically gets that luxurious and soft feel to it?
I personally think it's personal preference and your personal budget.

I got a dupe on Amazon for $1.50 and it is the EXACT same as the original lol I will never spend the $$ on the original again.

Yes it's definitely worth it. I have not get tried the real techniques sponge, but if it's even as good as everyone says, I would still always recommend the original beauty blender.
