I'm looking to color my hair a dark brown color for graduation Friday since I colored part of my hair underneath a while back and its starting to look brassy now and I was wanting a good way to color my hair without completely frying it. I heard box color isn't really safe but using the salon method downtown seem very healthy either. I was looking for any suggestions on a good box dye or something a could get from sallys that's not over the top expensive.

I would say dye your hair in a professional way and then deep condition it.

Lush has henna hair dye that's supposed to be healthier than regular dye

John Frieda box dyes are really good! Idk about healthy but good color! And then try the gloss after.

What does your hair look like now?

Will you be going darker or lighter?

If you go to Sally's you can get ammonia free hair die.

It'll be going barely lighter, my hair is already naturally black but looks more like a dark brown in sunlight

There's no really safe way to color hair, but like Tori said when you go to Sallys ask for ammonia free hair dye! Most hair dyes these are made without ammonia but some still do contain, and I don't think there is much of a difference between buying box dye and getting your hair dyed by a professional except for a much higher price and it will do the same amount of damage! If your hair is healthy overall it won't do much to your hair ☺️
