Ok so I'm going to the mall I've never used Foundation but I wanted to try it out for once. I heard lots of good things about Macs foundation but also Bare Minerals. The question is which is better??

What's your skin type? (Combo, oily, normal, dry). What type of coverage do you want. (Sheer/light, medium, full). What finish? (Dewy, satin, matte)

however, I've heard the only decent foundation from MAC is their Face & Body foundation. however, I think it really comes down yo personal preference

I don't know my skin type but I'd like it to be a natural finish

Definitely depends on your skin type. Theyre are different foudations for different skin issues. Also if you are spending higher end products you need to get the right kind so you aren't wasting your money. Does your skin feel dry? As in, do you notice peeling/tightness or products just sitting on top of the skin? Or is your skin shiny/oily, when you apply products does it disappear quickly or look kind of sweaty when you aren't sweating? Or is it combo, a mixture of both? I would look up a skin type quiz online to help you determine your skin type before buying a foundation so you will be able to tell which is the best for your skin.

Also I left out sensitive skin, does your skin get red or irritate very easily? Or are you acne-prone?

Well my skin is dry but under my eyes it gets a lityle oily and I do have sensitive skin but when I'm in the sun I break out once in a while but mainly around my nose

I'd be careful with MAC, I've heard horror stories of their foundations giving people massive breakouts. I'm sure it's different for everyone but I'd just use caution. I'd get samples of any you want to try first. That way if it doesn't work out there's no hassle with returns or exchanges.

Yeah I would not try Mac for sure if you have sensitive skin. I would go to Sephora or Ulta and tell them you need some samples for good makeup for sensitive combo skin. I recommend Tarte Foundation, Makeup Forever HD, UD Naked Skin, or Bare Minerals
