Hey! I've never gotten professional fake nails because I've only heard horrible things that they do to your nails, but I'm wondering if there's anything new out there that won't damage nails too bad or at all?
Thanks!

I don't really understand why professional nails are looked down upon >.< sure they damage your nails, but as long as you give them a break between sets, you'll be fine. they one time they cause terrible, long-lasting damage is when you don't let them fully grow back out before getting them done again.
I think any kind of fake nail is damaging in one way or another. you could try those nail polish stickers that are super popular right now :p

They're not that bad. I would just use a strengthening serum on your nails before and after you get them. I also agree with Kyraa, take breaks from them. And get them removed at a salon! Don't sit at home yanking them off with pliers because they're stuck.

There is an enhancement product called calcium gel which isn't as strong as regular acrylic and helps strengthen your nails. Acrylics shouldn't damage your nails if your technician is doing them properly and if you are removing them properly by soaking them off and not ripping them off.

Yes. Liquid gels. I used to always get acrylics, then pink & whites & my nail tech told me about liquid gels when he was the first tech in my state to do them & fell in love. they don't yellow or look dirty like acrlics do & I personally haven't had any nail damage, not saying you couldnt. My nails are very strong but polish does not stay on my natural nail beds so thats why I continue to get these. Right now I have them in a shorter rounded stiletto shape but you can do them any style just like acrylics.

I personally prefer Acrylics over Gel because I am way too hard on my nails and the Gel never lasted. I have never had a problem with Acrylics ruining my nails if I have them taken off at the nail place, now if I tried to do it on my own, then they would be ruined! But as long as I have had someone who knew what they were doing, then it was fine. I wear my Acrylics all the time, the only time I have had them off in the last three years was because I had to get them off for surgery, so I honestly don't care what my real nails look like. If you are going temporary, then I would get gel, but for prolonged where, Acrylics are your best bet.
