You would have to bleach it to get it such a bright red. If you did it without, it probally wouldnt be as bright as you wanted.

The other girls are right, when I was red before I went blonde I wanted it bright red but it didn't work as well as I wanted cause I didn't want to bleach my hair but definitely one bleach would be enough to lift it to a light orange or orange colour and from there you'll be able to go the red that you want cause you don't need to be blonde to do it :)

That's the bleach powder and peroxide that I use, I think in other places the bottles are a little different in packaging but same bottles and tub, etc. :)

And the only thing I'd recommend getting is maybe a bottle of argan or maroccan oil and a good conditioning treatment :) you probably won't have very damaged hair after just one bleach but it's always good to have them around afterwards to keep your hair hydrated

I'm so excited to see this!! And yeah, you'll have to bleach it. Personally, I'd stock up on manic panic, so if the color ever fades, you can just add some of it, leave it in, wash it off and stay vibrant!

I like the color brilliance bleach and developer. They also have a color corrector that is less damaging. For brands of red hair dye I suggest Jerome Russell Punky Color which you can get at Ulta and Special Effects which you can get online because they lasted the longest in my experience.

I got a color from Sally's a few months ago, I can't remember the brand. It was in a Black box and it's name was something like Hi-red or Hi-color. No pre lightning required. Made for dark hair. I got the color magenta and it came out FLAMING. My hair is naturally a dark blonde but I dye it usually around a 3vr or 4vr. I would definitely recommend this if you don't want to bleach or if you are not well practiced in bleaching. I'll try and find a pic to post.

I have to lighten my hair to keep my purple vibrant and I just discovered a hair therapy mask from the brand EVA*NYC (thanks to ipsy) and it is amazing! It smells heavenly and has makes my hair so soft and shiny! The going to be buy one get one free at Ulta next week if interested. It has been amazing for combating the harsh effects of bleaching and straightening!
