You could get some natural looking clip in bangs lol that way you wouldn't have to commit to them :)

Since it's such a big transformation I'd start out with medium length side bangs to see if that works because the bangs might not be flattering and will be hard to grow out.

It depends on what you want to do to your forehead (which I think looks fine)
Parting in the middle is good for a wide forehead as it will make it look much narrower.
A side fringe is good for shortening the appearance and making a forehead look narrower
A big blunt fringe is good for longer faces as it makes the face appear shorter.
A wispy fringe that is a tiny bit shorter in the middle is good for round faces as it makes the face look longer and also more oval.
If you're really paranoid of people paying attention to it or just really want a change, I'd recommend adding texture to your hair (highlights, lowlights, layers). It will draw attention away.
