Soon I will be experimenting with highlighting/contouring, but as far as highlighting goes, should you highlight where your face is naturally highlighted? This sounds gross but the places I'm oily in, the light like reflects on it and kinda makes me look like I highlighted my face. If I bought a highlighting product, should I put it in the places that most people do (cheekbones, etc) or the odd places that I was just talking about, the oily places. (Between my eyebrows, chin, and on sides of nose)

If you're using an illuminator (a shimmery product that reflects light) then I would only apply it to the cheek & brow bones. if you're highlighting with a powder/foundation/concealer, then highlight the forehead, nose, cheek bones, etc :p
if you highlight all over your face with an illuminator, you'll look even more oily >.<

You want to put highlighter on anything you'd like to come forward or catch the light. So, on most people, they put it on their cheekbones, sometimes down the bridge of the nose, or on the forehead/above the eyebrows. Any place that you put highlighter is going to draw the eye to it more, so many people want those areas to come forward a little more to enhance their natural bone structure. I wouldn't put highlighter somewhere that you're naturally oily, because it will draw attention to it and make it look more oily.

Herro! A highlighter is meant to go on the highest points of your face where the sun would hit. If you have an oily face I woul recommend to skip the nose, chin and forehead because that's were we oily faced peeps get oily the most. I would just highlight the cheekbone area, Cupid's bow, and brow bone. And through out the day you'll get your natural shine where you didn't apply it. Also if you do a lot of highlighter it will make your face look shiny, almost oily, in pictures.

Putting highlighter in oily spots generally just makes you look twice as oily. Cheekbones are fool proof places to highlight and the brow bone makes the world of difference. You can play up the inner corners of your eyes with different highlight shades
