I have little tiny white spots that are kind of like black heads only the pores are mostly white filled. ugh I'm not making sense sorry. Is a charcoal wash what I need? pore strips don't pull the stuff out and I've heard the charcoal acts like a magnet?

You really should use a salicylic acid cleanser its the only thing that can unclog your pore walls

The salicylic acid just makes it dry and flakey. I need something to draw out the gross stuff.

If you want to try a charcoal scrub I suggest Dark Angels from Lush (:
it helps the clogged pores on my nose and makes my skin look less dull and feel softer

You have congested skin and a mask a couple times a week won't fix the problem ,if you don't get a skincare routine that works if your getting dry from salicylic products you can alternate with a gentle hydrating cleanser like cerave and use a thicker night cream a facial mask is great but it's to work alongside a good skincare routine ,and simple clay mask once a week will help

You can use a cream cleanser like neutrogena deep clean cream cleanser or Aveeno clear complexion or you can use a gel like Paula's choice Bha ,but you also want to use Aha because it loosens the sticky substance that holds dead skin to your face so the Bha can penetrate your pore walls ,you don't have to get one that's glycolic acid that stings, you can get a gentle latic acid exfoliate like Dr Graf Brightening peel , its for all skin types if your not sensitive dr Dennis Gross peel pads are great, then a hydrating moisturizer try and find one with hyaluronic acid because it binds water to the skin and helps keep dry skin hydrated ,you want hydration and moisture together ,that's why I like cerave it has both but it's not a quick fix it takes time to unclog impacted skin unless you go get a facial with extractions and start fresh

Black heads are caused by oxidation of built up, dead skin cells. Sal cleansers are best. But if you don't like them, I suggest getting a monthly mini facial, from a good esthie to keep you exfoliated, and recommend a proper skincare routine specific to you. It realy does end up cheaper. Trust me. Also, don't scrub your skin. Use enzymatic masks to breaks down dead cells and clogs. Balance your ph. Almost every cleanser on the market isnt ph bakanced... you have to tone after. The perfect toner... thayers rose which hazel. Soothing, anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, and balances ph, allowing skin to function prooerly.
