Ok , so I was on this app. And just for one brush it was 400 and something. Why is the prices so much? Why certain eye shadow cost as much as your phone bill. I will never ever be able to spend this much. And my family owns a business so we make good money to spend it like that , BUT STILL. I cried looking at that stuff. Does anyone thought of making your own product ; makeup from scratch. If cleopatra did it , why can't we. I just think people is spending too much on make up products. It hurts me.

I think that 400$ for a brush is a bit excessive and I sortof agree with you, I don't think I'd ever feel good about myself if I spent that much on cosmetics or a single product. The way I seem to look at this is "how else could this money be used" and would probably donate it to someone who needs it more than I do. Not saying I've never gone on a makeup haul and spent a bit of money or anything like that but to me, 400$ is a pretty large amount of money to just blow I guess so I think there are much more constructive ways to spend money like that.

$400 is stupid. Idc if it's better and a eternity brush, it's a stupid choice o;

I totally agree! $400 is a HUGE amount of money... $400 could probably feed my entire family for about 3 months lol. It kills me a little to see money that could be going to a charity or some humanitarian effort completely wasted on a brand name product.

One brush is $400? Is it not a set? What brand is that? One of the costly brushes I know and very well made is Hakuhodo. And even the their face brush costs $200+ but not exceeding to $400. Well as for me, I get it if people would spend that much. As long as they love it. I spend more on purses, shoes and jewelries. Makeup will expire, but these don't. As for brushes, I can only spend $400 if its a set or at least 2brushes. But not just one. For that amount $400 I'll just add $200+ more so I can buy another Valentino rock studs flats. Lol.

I've seen some expensive brush sets, but I've never seen a brush for $400 on it's own. Everyone mixes and matches at some point, sees what combos they can get by mixing what. But in all honest I'm ok with spending $22 or $40 on a lipstick if it's what I want and the quality is there. I can't stand crappy expensive products.

$400 on a brush is stupid but $400 on make up isn't in my opinion. I have a bit of make up that I've spent a fair amount on, no discounts etc.and I LOVE it dearly lol. As silly as that sounds.

Not really liking the tone of where this thread is going. I have no problem in dropping $80 bucks for an eye quad especially if I've done my research, swatched it and it compliments my coloring. $400 on one brush...I will not drop money for. To tell people that they shouldnt spend money on expensive makeup is a little insulting. Just as it is wrong for someone to tell another that drugstore makeup is junk and they shouldnt buy it. I worked my butt off to be able to retire at 39 so I could work in public service full-time without pay so if I wanna take $700 and blow on makeup and skincare in one day I'm going to do so.

I Agree with Shelley when your working and making your own money you can do what you want with it,that's not to say there aren't cheaper alternatives I don't think that one brush was 400 it was probably a set that will last you foreverrr so it's worth the investment but if that's not your thing then there are plenty of places that sell less expensive brands but I work 63 hrs a week so I'm going to buy what I want when I want as long as I have it to spare.

I just want to clarify that by me saying I wouldn't spend 400$ spur of the moment on makeup, a brush, etc.doesn't mean I don't agree with it if you can afford to and want to spend that kind of money on something you really want, it's just not something that I could see myself doing as personally I don't have that money to spend, especially on one product. I have spent large amounts of money on makeup and hair extensions etc.I'm not saying it's wrong or trying to insult anybody in any way.

I could understand why some ladies here would get offended by this post or what some may say about it being stupid or what not to buy... to each is own but I get where cierra is coming from as well... it seems a bit pricey for just one brush in my opinion but if you can't afford it just look around for other brand prices... common sense would tell you that. I make good money too but still only buy drugstore makeup like revlon or rimmel or loreal which to me is good quality with an affordable price for me.

I think we folks start saying what others should do with their money it turns people off and creates a negative vibe.

I get where you're coming from too Shelley, which is why I said in my first comment that it was just my opinion that I wouldn't spend 400$ on something because I can't afford that but if you can, why wouldn't you.
If I wanted it I'd get it too so it really doesn't matter what other people think. Hope that makes sense, I'm just trying to remove the negative vibe as I feel like this thread, like you said does have negative vibes to it.

Shaye you didn't say anything wrong hun I wouldn't spend 400 on a freakin brush either ,and I also love drugstore products everyone has there own budget and what they will and won't spend money on but it's up to the Individual.

Awww Shaye...you're fine girl.I'm just bothered by someone making some crazy statement about how money could be better spent towards charity. That just ticked me off to the ninth degree. I worked my butt off to get where I'm at in life financially so I can fullfil my dream to work in public service and reading that comment just really hurt me. Maybe I shouldn't take it so personally but I'm a passionate person from what I've been told and I take a lot of heat doing what I do on a daily basis so the last thing I like reading is someone making some off the wall statement about how people should handle their finances. You're perfectly fine Shaye. *sending virtual hug your way*
