I feel it is best used to prime target areas rather than a stand alone primer. This is my personal preference.

I would strictly only use it over the areas with noticeable pores, and use a primer over.

Rozberry is correct :-) Any pore types of primers should only be applied where needed and as a side note if any dry patches you can also use it over the dry area but use a little not to much.
