Skincare question, I don't understand why...

I don't understand why most moisturizers including eye creams (all of Lancome, most of Estee Lauder, some Avene, some La Roche Posay) and some serums (Lancome Dreamtone does, Genifique doesn't) ball up on my skin. I have super dry skin so it should absorb, but instead it leaves this layer that comes off if I rub too much or apply foundation. I don't put too much.

I have tried these creams on my man who has combo to dry skin and this doesn't happen on him.

The only moisturizers that work are Clinique moisture surge, all about eyes and youth surge.

Is there some ingredient that doesn't work on my skin? Is my skin weird?

The problem with that is that my moisturizer choice is super limited. I don't really like the clinique ones and wanted to change but I had to return the Lancome I bought and the clerk said she never saw that problem before. Then she tried all of the other creams she had and they all balled up as well. I left empty handed.

Thanks for your help on this.

In what order do you use your skin care products, and what products are you using for your skin care routine?

Do you exfoliate regularly?if you have of dead skin the product will just sit ontop of your skin ,also you could be using too much product, serum should be a pea size amount and moisturizer a blueberry size amount for the face any more than than your just wasting your product ,and if your layering products sometimes ,one will react with the next if it's not fully absorbed into your skin.

I am cleaning the skin with boots tea tea trea soap, then toning with a nivea toner, then Genifique serum, then moisturizer. I exfoliate a few times a week with the tea tree boots exfoliator and also use luna. I don't think I have dead skin or put too much product. What could be the problem?

The only reason I can think that causes your product to ball up is that you have to wait for one to be fully absorbed before adding the next atleast 5 min between layers, maybe Kitty has some ideas

If I don't wait a period of time between applying my serum and moisturizer product will ball up on me. I give myself 5-8 minutes before I apply my moisturizer after my serum. During the waiting time I'm either dealing with my hair or trying to figure out what makeup look I'm going to do.

I see, maybe I'm just not patient enough?? I will try to wait more to see if it works. Thanks so much to all of you ladies, you are always so helpful!!
