I've used kevin murphy's color bug before on my dark hair and the purple showed up well. it was a deep purple tint to my hair. If you had lighter hair it would probably show up better. With the kevin murphy chalk I applied it to my hair when it was dry with product first and then sealed it with hair spray.

My link doesn't look like it's working. Put if you go to their website then styling products and then click the arrow at the bottom of the products to go to the next page you'll see it. :)

I have and I love it :) I have dark hair and I find that wetting the chalk helps the color show up much better. I've tried hair chalk made by hair companies and I find them more drying and less colorful than buying a set of chalk pastels from the craft store :)

I use this indian brand, you probably won't find it, but anyways. I have really dark hair. I feel straightening it after works marvellously. it stays on longer.

Thanks so much for all your tips and suggestions! I'll look it to that brand Heather, but maybe I should try craft pastels. I don't know. do more research. :) I appreciate you ask taking the time to respond!

Not a problem Natalie :) The kevin murphy stuff works but it is kinda expensive though. I worked in a salon at the time so I received a discount. But normally I think it was 20ish? But definitely try out other brands :) Let me know what you get and the results!!
