Check out crown brushes. They're amazing and affordable. You can get great sets as well. A large brush collection and love my sigma and Mac brushes, but I find myself resorting to my crown brushes most often.

I personally dont like Sigma brushes. I love them at first, but after washing, they loose their shape and hold. If you want a cheaper alt. to MAC check out Royal Brushes. They are a brush manufacturing company and have a huge selection of brushes in natural/synthetic/ blend brushes.

Of the two, MAC, even though I have some Sigma brushes that I like (mainly the F80, and I still use the E25 and E55 at times). IMO, MAC's 239 is a must-have, as is the 217.
But I've also become a massive fan of Louise Young brushes. (Some of them are now available through Nordstrom, if you're in the US.) For a lower price point, try Sonia Kashuk or Real Techniques.
