So I decided that I wouldn't wear makeup for a week but my face is oilier than ever now that I havent worn any for a few days. I wash my face twice a day. So what's the deal? My face usually doesn't get this oily when I put makeup on.

Do you powder your face? That would absorb slot of the natural oily ness of your skin?

The more you wash your face per day, the more it Will get oily.. Sebum is a natural barrer for the skin, if you broke it too much it´ll be worse. Just use products adapted for oily skin, it´ll reduce the "shiny" aspect :) but I agree With the girls, if you use powder on your face you have the explication :)

Use a soapless cleanser! Mine is the blue one by Avene, and when I wash my face at night, in the next morning my skin isn't even oily. It helps me a lot.

Are you moisturizing after washing your face? If not your skin produces more oil to try to make up for the lack of moisture in the skin after washing. Try a light moisturizer made for oily skin or one that is oil free.

I use to be the same. I stopped washing twice a day and don't use cleansers since they can have sulfates or alcohol which will make the skin dehydrated and cause your skin to produce more oil. I only use sea salt to sort of cleanse and exfoliate my face and my skin is more than half as oily as it use to be

And a good moisturizer. I prefer a glycerin one as it's not an oil that sits on top which won't moisturize much. It only seals in the water for a little and since it's not enough the skin begins to think it's dehydrated and produces more oil
