Damages your cuticles?

I got a gel manicure about three weeks ago and they need to be removed for an upcoming performance. I read that acetone can be drying. Can I use that to take off the manicure? or are there any other options to take it off?

Well soak it with a cotton ball to help avoid the cuticles and gently use a cuticle pusher to gently scrape the gel.
