Yay! I'm 5' 2" as well and got a maxi dress a few years ago, had to order online, but I've since lost weight and it doesn't fit.
I really like yours better too!

Parnika & Bree, I also just assumed that maxi is not for me before finally realizing that there is always a pattern, cut/style and color that will suit my bodytype...I say try it :)
