Regular eyeliner is pretty soft and to get the effect of almond shaped eyes you use kohl eyeliner it is darker and more pigmented plus it is really creamy so it is easy to apply.

There's a great YouTube tutorial on promise phan's channel. I watched it recently- it had to do with different eyeliner styles that could change the shape of your eye.
